R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Tyler Seward has graduated as valedictorian of the
  Stratford High School Class of 2013; and
         WHEREAS, Earning the title of valedictorian requires not only
  intellect and aptitude, but also dedication to the highest academic
  standards; to attain this coveted distinction, Mr. Seward
  demonstrated a thorough understanding of a wide range of subjects,
  and he finished his high school career with a grade point average of
  99.657; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of his high school career,
  Mr. Seward has participated in a wide variety of extracurricular
  activities and organizations; a member of the student council and
  the National Honor Society, he has also taken part in numerous UIL
  meets, competing with the social studies team all four years of high
  school and with the science team as a junior and senior; in the
  social studies division, he won district this past year and he twice
  advanced to regionals; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to his academic pursuits, Mr. Seward has
  been a member of the school band and one act play crew; a talented
  athlete, he has also run track and played basketball and football,
  and he was named to the Elite Academic All-State 1A Division 1
  Football Team by the Texas High School Coaches Association his
  senior year; he is planning to continue his studies at Wayland
  Baptist University, where he will major in music; and
         WHEREAS, The son of proud parents Clint and Cindy Seward,
  Tyler Seward has earned the respect and admiration of teachers and
  classmates alike, and his exceptional scholastic ability, hard
  work, and commitment to excellence have opened the way to limitless
  opportunities for this outstanding young Texan; now, therefore, be
  it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Tyler Seward,
  valedictorian of the Stratford High School Class of 2013, and
  extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success as he begins
  the next exciting chapter of his life; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Seward as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
