R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Panhandle High School boys' 4 x 100-meter relay |
|
|
team took part in the 2013 University Interscholastic League Track & |
|
|
Field State Meet for 1A Division 1, and the team members merit |
|
|
special recognition for their skill and achievements; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Joining the top competitors in Texas at Mike |
|
|
A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 11, Brody Powers, Seth Wood, |
|
|
Patrick Shadid, and Tyler Hall turned in a notable performance; |
|
|
they finished with a time of 43.30 seconds to earn sixth place in |
|
|
this hard-fought contest; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for |
|
|
high school track and field athletes, these talented young men have |
|
|
ably represented their school, and they may look back with pride on |
|
|
this notable accomplishment for years to come; now, therefore, be |
|
|
it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate the members of |
|
|
the Panhandle High School boys' 4 x 100-meter relay team on their |
|
|
sixth-place finish in the 1A Division 1 competition at the UIL Track & |
|
|
Field State Meet and extend to them sincere best wishes for the |
|
|
future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
