R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Panhandle High School girls' 1,600-meter relay |
|
|
team took part in the 2013 University Interscholastic League Track & |
|
|
Field State Meet for 1A Division 1, and the team members merit |
|
|
special recognition for their skill and achievements; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Joining the top competitors in Texas at Mike A. |
|
|
Myers Stadium in Austin on May 11, Tess Rusk, Kenzy Cates, Stormy |
|
|
Wood, and Jordan Molnar turned in a notable performance; they |
|
|
achieved a time of 4 minutes, 4.54 seconds, to earn fourth place and |
|
|
came very close to claiming a spot on the podium; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for |
|
|
high school track and field athletes, these talented young Texans |
|
|
have ably represented their school, and they may cherish their |
|
|
memories of this notable accomplishment for years to come; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate the members of |
|
|
the Panhandle High School girls' 1,600-meter relay team on their |
|
|
fourth-place finish in the 1A Division 1 competition at the UIL |
|
|
Track & Field State Meet and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
