R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Johnny and Leona Whipple of Lubbock |
|
|
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 9, 2013; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Johnny Ray Whipple and the former Leona Christina |
|
|
Sinclair were united in matrimony at 25th Street Baptist Church in |
|
|
Lubbock in 1963, and they renewed their vows at Bethany Baptist |
|
|
Church on June 11, 1988; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, While innumerable changes have taken place in the |
|
|
world during the past half-century, this devoted husband and wife |
|
|
have remained constant in their commitment to each other, and the |
|
|
strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges |
|
|
and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Johnny and |
|
|
Leona Whipple on their golden wedding anniversary and extend to |
|
|
them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Whipple as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
