R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Gabriella Gonzales graduated as valedictorian of |
|
the 2013 senior class of Pleasanton High School, and she truly |
|
merits special recognition for her impressive achievements; and |
|
WHEREAS, Earning the title of valedictorian requires not only |
|
intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the |
|
highest academic standards; to attain this coveted distinction, Ms. |
|
Gonzales demonstrated a thorough understanding of a wide range of |
|
subjects, and the rewards of the countless hours she has devoted to |
|
her studies are myriad; and |
|
WHEREAS, In addition to applying herself diligently to her |
|
schoolwork, Ms. Gonzales volunteered her time with her church |
|
congregation during a Thanksgiving dinner event and has further |
|
assisted in food drives to benefit the homeless; she plans to |
|
continue her education at The University of Texas with hopes of |
|
becoming a pediatric oncologist, a goal that she was inspired to |
|
pursue because of her younger brother, Christian, who had leukemia; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Gonzales has earned the respect and admiration |
|
of her teachers and classmates at Pleasanton High, and her |
|
exceptional scholastic ability, hard work, and commitment to |
|
excellence have opened the way to limitless opportunities for this |
|
remarkable young Texan; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Gabriella |
|
Gonzales, valedictorian of the Pleasanton High School Class of |
|
2013, and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success as |
|
she begins the next exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Gonzales as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
