H.R. No. 242

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Abreanna DeLaGarza graduated as salutatorian of the 2013 senior class at Cotulla High School, and she truly merits special recognition for her impressive achievements; and

WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the highest academic standards; to attain this coveted distinction, Ms. DeLaGarza demonstrated a thorough understanding of a wide range of subjects, and her stellar grades earned her induction into the National Honor Society; and

WHEREAS, In addition to excelling in her schoolwork, Ms. DeLaGarza served on the Cotulla High student council; she is also active in the congregation at Prevailing Word Church, where she has taught and participated in the music program; looking ahead to her college education, she plans to attend Texas A&M University and ultimately to pursue an advanced degree in marine biology; and

WHEREAS, Abreanna DeLaGarza has earned the respect and admiration of her teachers and classmates at Cotulla High, and her exceptional scholastic ability, hard work, and commitment to excellence have opened the way to limitless opportunities for this remarkable young Texan; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Abreanna DeLaGarza, salutatorian of the Cotulla High School Class of 2013, and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success as she begins the next exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. DeLaGarza as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
