R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Taylor D. Buchanan graduated as valedictorian of |
|
the 2013 senior class at Raymondville High School, and he truly |
|
merits special recognition for this impressive achievement; and |
|
WHEREAS, Earning the title of valedictorian requires not only |
|
intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the |
|
highest academic standards; to attain this coveted distinction, |
|
Mr. Buchanan demonstrated a thorough understanding of a wide range |
|
of subjects, and the rewards of the countless hours he devoted to |
|
his studies are myriad; and |
|
WHEREAS, In addition to excelling in his schoolwork, |
|
Mr. Buchanan has served for five years as the head youth |
|
coordinator at the Raymondville First United Methodist Church |
|
vacation Bible school, and he has also volunteered at an autism |
|
awareness event, a children's literacy promotion fair, and an |
|
annual music festival; in recognition of his academic |
|
accomplishments and civic involvement, he was awarded a scholarship |
|
from the Terry Foundation, which he plans to use as he pursues a |
|
degree in kinesiology at The University of Texas at San Antonio; his |
|
ultimate goal is to become a certified physical therapist and to |
|
open his own clinic; and |
|
WHEREAS, The son of proud parents Debbie and Doug Buchanan, |
|
Taylor Buchanan has earned the respect and admiration of his |
|
teachers and classmates at Raymondville High, and his exceptional |
|
scholastic ability, hard work, and commitment to excellence have |
|
opened the way to limitless opportunities for this outstanding |
|
young Texan; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Taylor |
|
D. Buchanan, valedictorian of the Raymondville High School Class of |
|
2013, and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success as |
|
he begins the next exciting chapter of his life; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Buchanan as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
