R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Ashlinn Guidry graduated as valedictorian of the
  Class of 2013 at Freer High School, and she truly merits special
  recognition for her impressive achievements; and
         WHEREAS, Earning the title of valedictorian requires not only
  intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the
  highest academic standards; to attain this coveted distinction, Ms.
  Guidry demonstrated a thorough understanding of a wide range of
  subjects, and the rewards of the countless hours she has devoted to
  her studies are myriad; and
         WHEREAS, Outside of school, Ms. Guidry volunteered at the
  vacation Bible school programs of two area churches and shared her
  time and energy with Duval County Relay for Life, local
  beautification projects, and the First Baptist Church of Freer Team
  KIDS initiative; she plans to attend Texas State University and
  hopes to one day become an author of books for children and young
  adults; and
         WHEREAS, Ashlinn Guidry earned the respect and admiration of
  her teachers and classmates at Freer High School, and her
  exceptional scholastic ability, hard work, and commitment to
  excellence have opened the way to limitless opportunities for this
  remarkable young Texan; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Ashlinn
  Guidry, valedictorian of the Freer High School Class of 2013, and
  extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success as she
  begins the next exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Guidry as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
