R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, The Wimberley Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6441 |
|
|
has earned All State and All American recognition for 2012-2013; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Presented by the National and Texas VFW |
|
|
organizations, these designations honor outstanding units for |
|
|
membership growth and participation in VFW programs; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This year marks the first in its 68-year history |
|
|
that Post No. 6441 has achieved All American status, and this |
|
|
notable success is a testament to the actions and commitment of its |
|
|
participants and its current leader, Commander Glenn Gibbs; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dedicated to the VFW mission of assisting veterans |
|
|
and the greater community, the organization supports a number of |
|
|
worthwhile initiatives, including the local EMS, Salvation Army, |
|
|
Crisis Bread Basket, and Habitat for Humanity; members also sponsor |
|
|
a Boy Scout troop and a weekly bingo game, as well as the highly |
|
|
anticipated annual Pro-open Rodeo; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Wimberley VFW Post No. 6441 has greatly enriched |
|
|
the area it serves, and all those associated with the group may take |
|
|
pride in their exceptional contributions; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate the Wimberley |
|
|
VFW Post No. 6441 on earning All State and All American recognition |
|
|
and extend to its members sincere best wishes for the future; and, |
|
|
be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
