SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 8
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Billy E. Cannon, who is retiring from the Office of the
  Comptroller of Public Accounts after 14 years of outstanding
  service; and
 
         WHEREAS, Mr. Cannon brought a wealth of experience in the
  banking and financial sectors of the economy to bear in his work
  at the comptroller's office, and he has risen to the position of
  senior internal auditor; and
 
         WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Mr. Cannon has been noted
  for his superior skills, knowledge, and expertise, and he has
  made numerous valuable contributions to state government through
  his work on a wide variety of projects; and
 
         WHEREAS, Talented and resourceful, he has handled his many
  responsibilities with remarkable efficiency and dedication; his
  friendly manner and genuine concern for others have served as an
  example throughout the agency; and
 
         WHEREAS, An exemplary public servant, he is respected and
  admired by his colleagues, and his presence at the Office of the
  Comptroller of Public Accounts will be greatly missed; now,
  therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Billy E. Cannon
  on his exceptional service to the people of Texas as an employee
  of the Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts and extend to
  him best wishes for continued success in all his endeavors; and,
  be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
