SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 30
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  join the Academy of Tango-Texas and Texans across the state in
  celebrating December 11, 2013, as the Day of Tango; and
 
         WHEREAS, The tango is an essential part of Argentine and
  Latin culture; this impassioned dance form has inspired people
  around the world; and
 
         WHEREAS, The tango has been inscribed onto the Intangible
  Cultural Heritage Lists of the United Nations Organization for
  Education, Science and Culture; and
 
         WHEREAS, Celebrated across Latin America, the Day of Tango
  was brought to Texas by the Academy of Tango-Texas in 2011; this
  exceptional nonprofit organization is again hosting this year's
  celebration, which will feature international tango champions,
  area tango instructors, and other professional performers; and
 
         WHEREAS, It is indeed fitting that a day be set aside to
  celebrate this important cultural institution and art form; now,
  therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend the Academy of
  Tango-Texas on its commitment to preserving and promoting the
  rich cultural heritage of Argentina through an annual festival
  celebrating the tango and extend to its members and volunteers
  best wishes for a memorable Day of Tango on December 11, 2013;
  and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
  honor of this special occasion.
