SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 32
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize Tomas Uresti for his service on the board of the |
|
|
Harlandale Independent School District; and |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Education Resource Group ranked the |
|
|
Harlandale Independent School District the top school district |
|
|
in overall academics and financial performance in San Antonio; |
|
|
the group also ranked the district seventh in the state; and |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Uresti worked with San Antonio United Car |
|
|
Clubs to organize a successful school-supply drive for |
|
|
low-income students at Gillette Elementary School; and |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, He also hosted Vestal Elementary School students |
|
|
at his doughnut shop, River City Doughnuts, to enjoy a day of |
|
|
baking and decorating doughnuts; and |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd |
|
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Tomas Uresti for |
|
|
his 11 years of outstanding service on the board of the |
|
|
Harlandale Independent School District and his contributions to |
|
|
the education of Harlandale students; and, be it further |
| |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
