SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 50

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize the Carroll Independent School District for its exemplary support of Rachel's Challenge Relay for Life; and

WHEREAS, More than 1,200 people participated in the district's fourth annual Rachel's Challenge Relay for Life, and the event raised more than $120,000 for American Cancer Society funding for research and relief for cancer patients; and

WHEREAS,

WHEREAS, Participants in the Carroll Independent School District event included students of all ages, from elementary school to graduating seniors, as well as the district's staff and members of the community, all of whom came together on behalf of cancer patients; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend the Carroll

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the district as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
