SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 76

Mary Ann Walsh McMillan Reaugh |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the |
|
|
citizens of Fort Worth in mourning the loss of Mary Ann Walsh |
|
|
McMillan Reaugh, who died May 24, 2013, at the age of 84; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mary Ann Walsh was born in Fort Worth on December |
|
|
31, 1928; a 1946 graduate of Paschal High School, she married |
|
|
David McMillan on December 15, 1948, and the couple raised three |
|
|
children, David, Donna, and Alicia; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, She was an exemplary housewife and mother during |
|
|
the 30 years of their marriage, and after Mr. McMillan's |
|
|
unexpected death, she stepped into the role of business owner and |
|
|
managed the family's successful grocery business for more than a |
|
|
year; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, She later married O. H. Reaugh of Breckenridge, |
|
|
with whom she shared a wonderful decade of traveling and spending |
|
|
time with family; she was a devout Christian who practiced her |
|
|
faith in her daily life, and she was a longtime member of Broadway |
|
|
Baptist Church; she was also a member of many clubs and |
|
|
organizations in both Fort Worth and Breckenridge; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A woman of courage, strength, and compassion, she |
|
|
gave unselfishly to others, and her wisdom, warmth, and valued |
|
|
counsel will not be forgotten; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, |
|
|
and she leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by |
|
|
her family and many friends; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd |
|
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby extend sincere |
|
|
condolences to the bereaved family of Mary Ann Walsh McMillan |
|
|
Reaugh; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
|
|
Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
|
|
memory of Mary Ann Walsh McMillan Reaugh. |
