SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 85
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Jerry Eugene Hames
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
  citizens of Fort Worth in mourning the loss of Jerry Eugene
  Hames, who died May 24, 2013, at the age of 74; and
         WHEREAS, Jerry Hames was born in Norman, Oklahoma; he
  graduated from Norman High School, where he was president of the
  Future Farmers of America and where he met his wife of 56 years,
  Peggy Watt; and
         WHEREAS, He earned a bachelor of science degree from
  Oklahoma University and a master of science degree from the
  University of Southern California; after college, he joined the
  United States Army as an ordnance officer; and
         WHEREAS, Jerry became an aeronautical engineer and forged
  a successful career with Lockheed Martin; he worked in Texas and
  California and retired in 2006; and
         WHEREAS, He was an exemplary gentleman who was devoted to
  his family; he and his wife raised three children, and they were
  blessed with eight grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, He was a generous, kindhearted person who was
  respected in the community for his accomplishments; he gave
  unselfishly to others, and he was beloved by many, and he will
  long be remembered with affection and appreciation by all who
  were privileged to share in his life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
  83rd Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby extend sincere
  condolences to the bereaved family of Jerry Eugene Hames; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
  Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do
  so in memory of Jerry Hames.
