SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 97
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Sidney Elbert Stout II
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
  citizens of Fort Worth in mourning the loss of Sidney Elbert
  "Bunky" Stout II, who died May 23, 2013, at the age of 77; and
         WHEREAS, Bunky Stout was born on October 23, 1935, in Fort
  Worth; he served in the United States Air Force, and he married
  the love of his life, Ruthell Powers, in 1964 in Little Rock,
  Arkansas; and
         WHEREAS, Bunky worked for Congressman Jim Wright and the
  Community Action Agency in Fort Worth in the 1960s; he later
  worked for the Texas Commission on Alcoholism through the
  National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism in
  Washington, D.C.; and
         WHEREAS, His last position in Washington was as department
  director for the National Center for Alcohol Education; in 1983,
  he began his service as the chief executive officer for USA
  Patch; and
         WHEREAS, A leader in his Fort Worth community, he promoted
  sobriety for 46 years, and he spent 20 years volunteering at the
  Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center; and
         WHEREAS, An exemplary gentleman, he was a strong,
  generous, kindhearted person who was respected for his
  accomplishments; and
         WHEREAS, Bunky Stout's courageous attitude toward life was
  inspirational to others, and he leaves behind memories that will
  be treasured forever by his family and many friends; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
  83rd Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby extend sincere
  condolences to the bereaved family of Sidney Elbert Stout II;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
  Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do
  so in memory of Bunky Stout.
