SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 99
         WHEREAS, The Texas Senate is pleased to recognize Trevon
  Jones for his exceptional achievements at The University of Texas
  at Austin and his commitment to the field of education; and
 
         WHEREAS, A former Paschal High School student, Trevon
  Jones graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in May of
  2013 with a double major in mathematics and government and a
  minor in education; and
 
         WHEREAS, He was a participant in the university's UTeach
  program and was chosen to represent the program on NBC's
  "Education Nation Teacher Town Hall" last fall; and
 
         WHEREAS, While at the university, he taught and tutored
  younger students, earned a seat at a science and technology
  roundtable at the White House, and received the first UTeach
  Outreach Leadership Award; and
 
         WHEREAS, He has set his sights on a teaching career and
  will soon be starting classes at Texas Christian University and
  working toward a master's degree in business administration and a
  doctorate in education; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to Trevon
  Jones for his exemplary achievements as a student at The
  University of Texas at Austin and his dedication to the field of
  education; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in his
  honor and as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
