SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 102
         WHEREAS, When they married many years ago, Betty and James
  Henson placed great faith and trust in one another, and they have
  been amply rewarded, as they are celebrating their 75th wedding
  anniversary; and
         WHEREAS, Betty Lucas and James D. Henson were married in
  1938 by the Reverend Ira A. Smith in Quanah; the world has changed
  considerably during the years of their marriage, yet Mr. and Mrs.
  Henson have continued to cherish traditional family values; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Henson worked as a grocer and baker prior to
  his service in the United States Air Force during World War II;
  after the war, the couple operated a bakery in Archer City before
  moving to Wichita Falls, where they managed a leather goods
  store; in 1961, Mr. Henson became the first student center
  director at Midwestern State University, and Mrs. Henson was
  appointed supervisor of the Wichita Falls Individual Development
  Center; and
         WHEREAS,
 
 
 
         WHEREAS, They have been blessed with a wonderful family;
  their children, Jim and Betty Ann, and their grandchildren, Cole
  and Adam, have been a source of much pride and joy; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Henson shared their happiness with
  family and friends at an anniversary celebration on June 20,
  2013; their long and happy union is truly an inspiration to us
  all; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby extend sincere
  congratulations to Betty and James Henson on their 75th wedding
  anniversary; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  this distinguished couple as an expression of esteem from the
  Texas Senate.
