SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 106
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Dalton Ritter, who is retiring from the Texas
  Department of Transportation after 37 years of outstanding
  service to the state; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Ritter began his career in state service on
  October 12, 1976; he has contributed to a high degree of
  integrity in the external audit function of the agency through
  his professionalism and expertise; and
         WHEREAS, Throughout his career, he has been noted for his
  reliability and his extraordinary people skills; he has been able
  to incorporate the most recent professional practices and has
  collaborated with his peers from across the country in such
  organizations as the American Association of State Highway and
  Transportation Officials; and
         WHEREAS, Talented and resourceful, Mr. Ritter has handled
  his responsibilities with exceptional efficiency and dedication;
  he has provided the members of his staff with a positive work
  environment and has served as a mentor to countless fellow
  workers; and
         WHEREAS, An exemplary public servant, he is respected and
  admired by his colleagues, and his presence at the Texas
  Department of Transportation will be greatly missed; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Dalton Ritter on
  his exceptional service to the people of Texas as an employee of
  the Texas Department of Transportation and extend to him best
  wishes for continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
