SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 128
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
recognize Charles Silmon, who recently won the 100-meter dash at |
|
the National Collegiate Athletic Association Outdoor Track and |
|
Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
WHEREAS, This exceptional student-athlete won the race |
|
with a time of 9.89 and became the first Horned Frog to win the |
|
event since 1989; he went on to also compete in the finals of the |
|
200-meter dash and the 4x100-meter relay; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Texas Christian University, the people of Fort |
|
Worth, and Texans across the state are proud of Charles for his |
|
hard work and his impressive skills; he is truly deserving of |
|
recognition for his exemplary collegiate athletic career; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd |
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Charles Silmon |
|
on his outstanding accomplishments and extend congratulations to |
|
him on winning the National Collegiate Athletic Association |
|
championship in the 100-meter dash; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
