SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 132
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  George Riley Barnhart
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
  commemorates the life of George Riley Barnhart, who died May 29,
  2013, at the age of 64; and
         WHEREAS, George Barnhart was born March 9, 1949, in
  Guthrie, Oklahoma; after his graduation from Guthrie High
  School, he attended The University of Texas at Arlington, where
 
 
 
 
         WHEREAS, Mr. Barnhart enjoyed a long and fulfilling career
  as a first responder; he was one of the first to attend classes
  specifically designed for paramedics in the North Texas region
  and went on to serve for 10 years with CareFlite and for 27 years
  with the Benbrook Fire Department, where he rose to the rank of
  captain; he was known throughout his career for his
  resourcefulness, his grace under pressure, and his tenacity; and
         WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and compassion, he
  gave unselfishly to others, and his wisdom, warmth, and valued
  counsel will not be forgotten; and
         WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband and father, and he leaves
  behind memories that will be treasured forever by his family and
  his many friends; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby extend sincere
  condolences to the bereaved family of George Riley Barnhart; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of George Riley Barnhart.
