A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to appropriating money to the Texas A&M Forest Service to |
|
|
assist volunteer fire departments during the next state fiscal |
|
|
biennium. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. In addition to amounts appropriated to the Texas |
|
|
A&M Forest Service by Senate Bill No. 1, Acts of the 83rd |
|
|
Legislature, Regular Session, 2013 (the General Appropriations |
|
|
Act), $11,500,000 is appropriated out of general revenue account |
|
|
number 5064, Volunteer Fire Department Assistance, to the service |
|
|
for each of the fiscal years of the state fiscal biennium ending |
|
|
August 31, 2015, for the purpose of assisting volunteer |
|
|
firefighters in paying for equipment, personnel training, and |
|
|
administration, and for the purpose of staffing and operating costs |
|
|
associated with the Statewide Wildfire Protection Plan. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect on the 91st day after the last day of the |
|
|
legislative session. |
