R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Juliana Falcon graduated as the salutatorian of the |
|
Class of 2013 at Grulla High School; and |
|
WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only |
|
intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the |
|
highest academic standards; to attain this coveted distinction, |
|
Ms. Falcon demonstrated a thorough understanding of a wide range of |
|
subjects, and the rewards of the countless hours she has devoted to |
|
her studies are myriad; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Falcon also has given back to her community |
|
through volunteer work; a member of the Health Occupations Students |
|
of America, she joined her school's club in helping out at the |
|
Special Olympics and the Starr County Fair; she has volunteered |
|
through the National Honor Society, with the Starr County Youth |
|
Coalition, and with the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance and Tax |
|
Counseling for the Elderly programs as well; and |
|
WHEREAS, This fall, Ms. Falcon will begin studying biology at |
|
The University of Texas at Austin; she hopes to become a |
|
pediatrician or family doctor and ultimately to open a medical |
|
practice; and |
|
WHEREAS, Juliana Falcon earned the respect and admiration of |
|
her teachers and classmates at Grulla High School, and her |
|
exceptional scholastic ability, hard work, and commitment to |
|
excellence have opened the way to limitless opportunities for this |
|
remarkable young Texan; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Juliana |
|
Falcon, salutatorian of the Grulla High School Class of 2013, and |
|
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success as she |
|
begins the next exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Falcon as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
