R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Sheldon Hons has been named salutatorian of the |
|
|
Class of 2013 at Kenedy High School, and for achieving this |
|
|
significant honor, he indeed merits special recognition; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only |
|
|
intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the |
|
|
highest academic standards; to attain this coveted distinction, |
|
|
Mr. Hons demonstrated a thorough understanding of a wide range of |
|
|
subjects, and the rewards of the countless hours he has devoted to |
|
|
his studies are myriad; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Throughout his high school career, Mr. Hons was |
|
|
active with the FFA, the Karnes County Youth Stock Show, and his |
|
|
church; he helped manage the baseball team and worked at KHS |
|
|
athletic events, and he did volunteer work for Kenedy Elementary |
|
|
School and the Christus Santa Rosa Children's Hospital auction; he |
|
|
is continuing his education at Texas A&M University-Kingsville, in |
|
|
pursuit of a degree in mechanical engineering; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Sheldon Hons has earned the respect and admiration |
|
|
of his teachers and classmates at Kenedy High School, and his |
|
|
exceptional scholastic ability, hard work, and commitment to |
|
|
excellence have opened the way to limitless opportunities for this |
|
|
remarkable young Texan; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Sheldon Hons, |
|
|
salutatorian of the Kenedy High School Class of 2013, and extend to |
|
|
him sincere best wishes for continued success as he begins the next |
|
|
exciting chapter of his life; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Hons as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
