R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Linda Linder of Houston retired from Second Baptist
  School on May 29, 2013, concluding a distinguished career in
  education that spanned nearly 35 years; and
         WHEREAS, A Houston native, the former Linda Jeanne Marmion
  grew up in the Garden Oaks neighborhood and graduated from Waltrip
  High School; she went on to attend The University of Texas at
  Austin, where she served as vice president of Delta Gamma and as a
  freshman and summer orientation advisor; in addition, she was a
  member of the Cordettes, the honorary auxiliary for the Army ROTC;
  she earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education, and after
  completing her master's degree in counseling and guidance at the
  University of Houston, she began teaching sixth grade in the
  Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District; and
         WHEREAS, She was joined in matrimony to Gerald A. Linder, and
  through the years, they became the proud parents of two children,
  Stephanie and Mark; Mrs. Linder devoted herself entirely to her
  home and family while her son and daughter were young, and after
  they were enrolled at Second Baptist School, she joined the faculty
  there; over the course of her 30-year tenure, she helped countless
  young Texans build a strong foundation for future success; she also
  strove to provide spiritual guidance and to instill in them a sense
  of patriotism as well as an interest in the history of their city
  and state; and
         WHEREAS, Linda Linder opened new vistas of opportunity for
  the many students whose lives she touched, and she may indeed
  reflect with pride on her outstanding record of achievement; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Linda Linder
  on her retirement from Second Baptist School and extend to her
  sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Linder as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
