R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Employees of Methodist Dallas Medical Center and
  members of the local community are taking part in the 30th Annual
  National Night Out crime and drug prevention observance on October
  1, 2013; and
         WHEREAS, By joining together in this important initiative,
  participants are raising awareness of crime and drug prevention
  strategies and encouraging support for anticrime programs while
  strengthening neighborhood spirit and police-community
  partnerships; and
         WHEREAS, Since its inception in 1984, National Night Out has
  grown to include more than 37 million people in the United States
  and Canada, and each year, Texans show their support through a
  variety of activities around the state; and
         WHEREAS, The Methodist Dallas Medical Center event provides
  an opportunity for hospital staff and area residents to educate
  themselves about crime prevention and to reaffirm their commitment
  to making their community an even safer place in which to live and
  work; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby commemorate the Methodist
  Dallas Medical Center National Night Out crime and drug prevention
  observance and extend to all those involved in the gathering
  sincere best wishes for a productive and enjoyable event; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Methodist Dallas Medical Center as an expression of
  high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
