R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, August 2, 2013, marks the 50th wedding anniversary |
|
|
of Gerry and Alice Williams of Lubbock, and this joyous event |
|
|
provides a fitting opportunity to reflect on their memorable |
|
|
journey together as husband and wife; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Gerry Michael Williams and the former Alice Verlene |
|
|
Welborn were joined in matrimony in 1963 at a ceremony held at |
|
|
Terrace Church of Christ in Odessa; through the years, they have |
|
|
been blessed with a treasured family that includes two daughters |
|
|
and their husbands, Sherry and Dale Stephens and Lisa and Roger |
|
|
Schindele, as well as three grandchildren, Emily Stephens and |
|
|
Christopher and Joshua Schindele; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Williams are alumni of Odessa High |
|
|
School, and both are enjoying retirement after careers with John |
|
|
Morrell & Company; they have made their home in Lubbock for more |
|
|
than a quarter-century; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The five decades of marriage that Mr. and |
|
|
Mrs. Williams have shared is eloquent affirmation of the meaning of |
|
|
love and commitment, and their enduring union is an inspiration to |
|
|
all who know them; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Gerry and |
|
|
Alice Williams on their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Williams as an expression of high regard |
|
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
