R E S O L U T I O N
|
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, Gary Clack of Georgetown has earned a Texas Armed |
|
|
Services Scholarship for the 2013-2014 academic year; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Texas Armed Services Scholarship Program |
|
|
provides support for students who participate in an ROTC program at |
|
|
a civilian institution of higher learning and who commit to four |
|
|
years of military service after college; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A 2013 graduate of Georgetown High School, Mr. Clack |
|
|
was student body president and a member of the student council; he |
|
|
was on the football team for four years and earned recognition as an |
|
|
Academic All-District player during his senior year; he also |
|
|
participated in track and field and powerlifting; moreover, he was |
|
|
a member of the school's president's council and was vice president |
|
|
of the engineering club; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Clack will be continuing his education at Texas |
|
|
A&M University, where he plans to join the Corps of Cadets and |
|
|
pursue a career in the military; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Exciting challenges and opportunities await this |
|
|
outstanding young Texan, and he may indeed take great pride in his |
|
|
achievements as he embarks upon a future bright with promise; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Gary Clack on |
|
|
receiving a Texas Armed Services Scholarship and extend to him |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Clack as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
