SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 20
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Sandra Medina for her outstanding leadership as
  program coordinator of the Mobile Recreation Summer Day Camp; and
 
         WHEREAS, The Mobile Recreation Summer Day Camp is a
  collaborative effort of the City of Fort Worth and the Fort Worth
  Independent School District and was created to provide
  out-of-school programming to underserved young people; and
 
         WHEREAS, Sandra Medina leads a team of 24 well-trained,
  dedicated staff members who bring a wealth of experience in a
  wide variety of disciplines to bear in working with the city's
  young people; under her exceptional leadership, the program
  served more than 800 children in 2012 alone; and
 
         WHEREAS, She has played a vital role in implementing the
  program's curriculum, which includes such activities as archery,
  angling, kayaking, bicycling, swimming, metal etching,
  bookmaking, and journaling; campers also take field trips to
  museums, amusement parks, zoos, and other venues; and
 
         WHEREAS, Sandra has had a profound impact on the lives of
  countless young people, and she is truly deserving of recognition
  for her hard work and commitment; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby commend Sandra Medina on
  her commitment to helping young people and extend to her best
  wishes for continued success in directing the Mobile Recreation
  Summer Day Camp; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
