SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 42
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Anna Ray Borho on the grand occasion of her 105th
  birthday; and
         WHEREAS, This gracious lady is well known for her charm and
  generosity of spirit, and she is a revered resident of Leander;
  and
         WHEREAS, Anna Ray Borho was born July 12, 1908, the first
  child of Roscoe and Eula Giddens Craven; she married her husband,
  the late Edwin Borho, in 1935, and the couple was blessed with two
  children, Peggy and Curtis; and
         WHEREAS, Following in the footsteps of her father, she
  worked at the post office, where she enjoyed a productive,
  45-year career; she also helped her husband work their farm,
  working in the fields, canning vegetables from their garden, and
  helping to raise and butcher hogs; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Borho is an accomplished musician who has
  played the piano at Leander Presbyterian Church for some 90
  years; she continues to live at the homestead that has been in her
  family since the 19th century; and
         WHEREAS, A beloved and respected member of her community,
  she is noted for her courage and independence, her compassion for
  others, and her enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby extend best wishes to
  Anna Ray Borho on her 105th birthday; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her as a memento of this milestone in her life.
