SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 61
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Inez Reeder Conley on the joyous occasion of her 100th
  birthday; and
         WHEREAS, Born to Edward and Alice Reeder on July 24, 1913,
  in the Pearl Creek community of Smith County, Inez Reeder Conley
  attended elementary school in the Pearl Creek area and graduated
  from high school in Tyler; she married Irvin C. Conley in 1940;
  and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Conley dedicated her professional life to
  helping others in the fields of education and health care; she
  became a licensed vocational nurse, and she served in the United
  States Army as a nurse for three years; and
         WHEREAS, She moved to Rusk, Texas, in the mid-1940s and
  enjoyed a rewarding 25-year teaching career in the Rusk and
  Jacksonville Independent School Districts; she also had a
  fulfilling 15-year nursing career at Nan Travis Hospital; she
  remains active in the community and is currently a Pink Lady
  Volunteer; and
         WHEREAS, Upon moving to Rusk, she joined Mount Pleasant
  Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, where she has been a
  longtime active member; she has served as a Sunday school
  teacher, Sunday school superintendent, Stewardess Board
  president, and member of the Missionary Society; she currently
  serves as Church Mother; and
         WHEREAS, Throughout her life, Inez Conley has been noted
  for her generosity and her enthusiasm for living each day to the
  fullest; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby recognize Inez Reeder
  Conley as a treasured citizen of our state and extend to her
  congratulations on the occasion of her 100th birthday; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
