SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 73

Brian Jennings |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the |
|
Burleson community in mourning the loss of Brian Jennings, who |
|
died June 16, 2013, at the age of 41; and |
|
WHEREAS, Even as a young man, Brian Jennings had a strong |
|
sense of faith, and his Christian values ultimately guided him to |
|
a life of service; he joined the leadership of Alsbury Baptist |
|
Church as a youth pastor in 2006 and spent subsequent years |
|
offering invaluable guidance to the young people in the |
|
community; and |
|
WHEREAS, Known as "B. J." by those close to him, Mr. |
|
Jennings was a longtime basketball fan with steadfast loyalty to |
|
the Dallas Mavericks; family, friends, and parishioners were |
|
drawn to his charismatic, fun-loving personality and his unique |
|
ability to inspire others; and |
|
WHEREAS, Beloved by many, Brian Jennings will continue to |
|
live on in the hearts and minds of those whose lives he touched, |
|
and he will long be remembered for his warm and generous spirit; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd |
|
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby extend sincere |
|
condolences to the bereaved family of Brian Jennings: his wife |
|
of 20 years and his three children; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
|
Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
|
memory of Brian Jennings. |
