SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 100
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Sabino M. Vasquez
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
  commemorates the life of Sabino M. Vasquez, who died July 8,
  2013, at the age of 61; and
         WHEREAS, Sabino Vasquez was born December 29, 1951; he
  enjoyed a productive 33-year career with the Fort Worth Fire
  Department, which he served as an arson investigator and bomb
  technician, and he played an important role in the response to
  the Wedgwood Baptist Church shooting incident in 1999; and
         WHEREAS, Committed to the profession of firefighting, Mr.
  Vasquez took a wide variety of courses to stay up to date on the
  latest techniques and to learn new skills; he attended the
  Federal Bureau of Investigation's Hazardous Devices School, the
  Army School of Ammunition in England, and the National Fire
  Academy; and
         WHEREAS, He was committed to education and earned a
  master's degree in criminology and criminal justice in 2011; he
  also participated in numerous career days at local schools,
  educating young people who were interested in pursuing a career
  in firefighting; and
         WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and compassion, he
  gave generously to others, and his wisdom, warmth, and valued
  counsel will not be forgotten; and
         WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband, father, and
  grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured
  forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby extend sincere
  condolences to the bereaved family of Sabino M. Vasquez; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Sabino M. Vasquez.
