No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code and the Property Code related to certain eminent domain authority and the suspension of certain unreported eminent domain authority. The bill would require a letter to be submitted to the Comptroller of Public Accounts as specified by the provisions of the bill. A condemnation petition would be required to state the date of creation of the entity or the date the entity acquired the power of eminent domain.
 
The bill would repeal Sections 2206.101(d) and (e) of the Government Code.
 
The Comptroller of Public Accounts and the Texas Department of Transportation indicated no fiscal impact is anticipated. The Texas Legislative Council indicated that any costs associated with the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within the agency's existing resources; therefore, no significant fiscal impact is anticipated.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
