Amend CSHB 29 (house committee printing) on page 3, between lines 26 and 27, by inserting the following:
(l) An institution to which this section applies may not offer a fixed tuition price plan under this section to entering undergraduate students in any academic year unless the institution's governing board has certified that the institution has set aside a portion of the tuition set aside under Sections 56.011 and 56.012 in an amount sufficient to fully fund tuition and fee exemptions required under Section 54.341 for veterans and other military personnel and their dependents and surviving family members enrolled as students at the institution in that academic year. Tuition set aside under Sections 56.011 and 56.012 may be used for funding those exemptions in addition to any purpose provided under Subchapter B, Chapter 56.
