Amend CSHB 1025 (house committee printing) as follows:

(1)  On page 12, line 19, strike "(estimated to be $7,495,137)" and substitute "(estimated to be $5,495,137)".

(2)  Add the following appropriately numbered SECTION to the bill and renumber subsequent SECTIONS of the bill accordingly:

SECTION  .  JUDICIARY SECTION, COMPTROLLER'S DEPARTMENT: DISTRICT ATTORNEY SAFETY. In addition to amounts previously appropriated for the state fiscal biennium ending August 31, 2013, the amount of $2,000,000 is appropriated out of the general revenue fund to the Judiciary Section, Comptroller's Department, for the two-year period beginning on the effective date of this Act for the purpose of providing a one-time payment of an amount not to exceed $7,500 to each district attorney in this state to be used for the purchase of security-related devices and for other security-related expenses of the district attorney and the district attorney's family.
