Amend CSHB 1752 (house committee printing) as follows:
(1) On page 3, lines 18-19, strike "or state appropriations".
(2) On page 4, line 19, between "FUNDS." and "The", insert "(a)".
(6) On page 4, between lines 22 and 23, insert the following:
(b) The commissioner of higher education and applicable institutions of higher education may use state funds for the purpose of the program, other than appropriations made specifically for that purpose.
(c) The Texas Teacher Residency Program under this subchapter may be established and maintained only if sufficient funds are available under this section for that purpose.
