Committee Report (Unamended) |
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE
The Housing and Health Services Coordination Council was created to increase state efforts to offer service-enriched housing through increased coordination of housing and health services. Interested parties assert that the council, which seeks to improve interagency understanding of housing and services and increase the number of staff in state housing and state health services agencies that are involved in both housing and health care policies, would benefit from the addition of a representative of veterans' concerns and interests.
H.B. 736 seeks to include the perspective of veterans regarding housing issues in the council's future biennial plans by adding a representative from the Texas Veterans Commission to the council.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY
It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency, or institution.
