BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE
It has been reported that Prairie View A&M University may be the only state university currently ineligible to receive funding either as a tier one research university or from the research development fund. H.B. 870 seeks to enable the university to participate in the research development fund.

|
RULEMAKING AUTHORITY
It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency, or institution.
