Judiciary & Civil Jurisprudence |
Committee Report (Unamended) |
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE
Under current law, the judges of certain district courts can have their appointed bailiffs serve in each county of the district while only having to register once. H.B. 1193 seeks to extend that authority to additional judges.
|
RULEMAKING AUTHORITY
It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency, or institution.
|
ANALYSIS
H.B. 1193 amends the Government Code to include the judges of the 229th and 381st district courts among the district court judges who are each authorized to appoint a bailiff who is authorized to serve the court in each county of the district at the discretion of the judge.
