Special Purpose Districts

Committee Report (Substituted)

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE

Brazoria County Municipal Utility District No. 35, which is located within the corporate limits of the City of Pearland, is currently authorized to provide certain services to land located within district boundaries. Interested parties note the need to amend the powers of the district to include, among other things, the power to undertake certain road projects. C.S.H.B. 1277 seeks to address that need.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency, or institution.

The bill provides for the validation and confirmation of certain district actions and proceedings taken before the bill's effective date.
