AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT

The Tarrant Regional Water District, a water control and improvement district, has been governed by a five-member board of directors since its creation several decades ago.  While district directors have historically been elected to four-year terms at elections in May of each even-numbered year, based on statutory authority in the Election Code, the district board of directors recently moved its directors' election to odd-numbered years.

H.B. 3900 seeks to update the district's governing legislation regarding these changes.

H.B. 3900 amends current law relating to the board of directors of the Tarrant Regional Water District.
