AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the types of entities that are considered municipal |
|
|
water suppliers for purposes of the law governing the effect of the |
|
|
subdivision of certain land on certain irrigation water rights. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 49.501, Water Code, is amended to read as |
|
|
follows: |
|
|
Sec. 49.501. DEFINITION. In this subchapter, "municipal |
|
|
water supplier" means a municipality, [or] a water supply |
|
|
corporation, or a special utility district converted from a water |
|
|
supply corporation. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
