A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to designating October 1 as Influenza Awareness Day. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 662, Government Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 662.059 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 662.059. INFLUENZA AWARENESS DAY. (a) October 1 is |
|
|
Influenza Awareness Day to raise awareness of the health risks |
|
|
associated with influenza and encourage Texans to take proactive |
|
|
measures to reduce exposure to those risks. |
|
|
(b) Influenza Awareness Day shall be regularly observed by |
|
|
appropriate programs and activities. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
