A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
 
  relating to designating October 1 as Influenza Awareness Day.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter C, Chapter 662, Government Code, is
  amended by adding Section 662.059 to read as follows:
         Sec. 662.059.  INFLUENZA AWARENESS DAY. (a) October 1 is
  Influenza Awareness Day to raise awareness of the health risks
  associated with influenza and encourage Texans to take proactive
  measures to reduce exposure to those risks.
         (b)  Influenza Awareness Day shall be regularly observed by
  appropriate programs and activities.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
