A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the initial use of certain properties acquired for a |
|
|
public use. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Amend Sec. Sec. 2206.001, Government Code, by |
|
|
adding Subsection (f) to read as follows: |
|
|
(f) Private property acquired through eminent domain or |
|
|
through purchase in connection with an initial offer under Section |
|
|
21.0113, Property Code, must initially be used for the public use |
|
|
for which it was acquired. |
|
|
SECTION 2. EFFECTIVE DATE. |
|
|
This Act takes effect |
|
|
immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members |
|
|
elected to each house, as provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas |
|
|
Constitution. If this Act does not receive the vote necessary for |
|
|
immediate effect, this Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
