A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to identification for poll watchers. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

|
SECTION 1. Section 33.051, Election Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (f) to read as follows: |
|
|
(f) On accepting a watcher for service, the election officer |
|
|
shall provide the watcher with a form of identification, prescribed |
|
|
by the secretary of state, to be displayed by the watcher during the |
|
|
watcher's hours of service at the polling place. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
