A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to an exemption for certain solo practitioner attorneys
  from electronic filing fees.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter I, Chapter 51, Government Code, is
  amended by adding Section 51.808 to read as follows:
         Sec. 51.808.  EXEMPTION FROM ELECTRONIC FILING FEES. An
  attorney licensed to practice law in this state who is a solo
  practitioner is exempt from a fee imposed for the electronic filing
  of documents under this subchapter by a district or county clerk, a
  clerk of a court of appeals, or a vendor contracting to provide
  electronic filing services for the district, county, or court of
  appeals.
         SECTION 2.  Section 51.808, Government Code, as added by
  this Act, applies only to a fee imposed for the electronic filing of
  documents on or after the effective date of this Act.
         SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
