A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the issuance of school district teaching permits to |
|
|
persons who teach only career and technology education classes. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 21.055, Education Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (d-1) to read as follows: |
|
|
(d-1) Subsections (c) and (d) do not apply to a person who |
|
|
teaches only career and technology education classes. With the |
|
|
approval of the superintendent of the school district, a district |
|
|
may issue to the person a school district teaching permit without |
|
|
any action by the commissioner. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act applies beginning with the 2013-2014 |
|
|
school year. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
