A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
 
  relating to fees of office for directors of groundwater
  conservation districts.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 36.060(a), Water Code, is amended to
  read as follows:
         (a)  A director is entitled to receive fees of office of not
  more than $250 [$150] a day for each day the director actually
  spends performing the duties of a director. The fees of office may
  not exceed $9,000 a year.
         SECTION 2.  This Act applies only to a fee paid to a director
  of a groundwater conservation district for duties performed on or
  after the effective date of this Act. A fee paid for duties
  performed before that date is governed by the law in effect on the
  date the duties are performed, and that law is continued in effect
  for that purpose.
         SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
